§ Mr. Stevens
To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when he expects to publish the first report of the pensions ombudsman.

§ Mr. Newton
The pensions ombudsman, Mr. Michael Platt, has submitted to me his first report in accordance with section 59B(6) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975. The report covers the period from Mr. Platt's appointment on 2 January 1991 to 31 March 1991, and describes the setting up of his offices and other aspects of the establishment of the service. I have today arranged for a copy to be placed in the Library.
