HC Deb 03 July 1991 vol 194 c167W
Mr. McMaster

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what investment plans there are for the Foxbar Rivers area of Paisley; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

For 1991–92 Renfrew district council has been allocated resources of £23.761 million to support capital investment in its own housing stock and private sector housing in Renfrew district. Apart from £0.757 million of this sum which is earmarked to fund innovative housing projects in the Ferguslie Park urban partnership area, it is a matter for the council to determine how best to deploy these considerable resources to meet local housing needs including those of the Foxbar Rivers area of Paisley if this area is considered a priority. The council's future investment plans for the Foxbar Rivers area should be included in the capital programme which the council is due to submit to the Scottish Office later this year.
