§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe policy relating to green belts in Scotland is set out in the Scottish Development Department's circular 24/1985. All planning guidance is to be reviewed following a commitment contained in the White Paper on the environment "This Common Inheritance"—Cm. 1200—and a consultation paper on the scope of the review will be issued over the summer.
