HC Deb 03 July 1991 vol 194 cc162-3W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give details of restrictions imposed on premises with suspected or confirmed cases of blue ear disease in the past 24 hours; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gummer

No new suspected or confirmed cases of blue ear pig disease were reported within the 24 hours at 3.30 pm on 3 July 1991.

Dr. David Clark

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will place each day in the Library an updated report of the number of cases of blue ear disease and premises restricted, including the number of premises and their locations; and if he will also make a copy of this available to the hon. Member for South Shields at the same time.

Mr. Gummer

I have taken care to inform the House and the public at large of all significant developments in the current disease outbreak. I am arranging for the Library to receive a copy of the weekly returns made to the European Commission detailing the parishes in which one or more cases of the disease have been confirmed.
