§ Mr. TrippierMy Department is actively engaged in revising and developing its waste management papers series. This was stated in the White Paper "This Common Inheritance".
Publication of these papers started in 1976 to provide authoritative technical guidance and codes of practice on waste handling and disposal methods. They are recognised by waste management practitioners and regulators as standards of good practice and are respected throughout the industry. We intend to build on this foundation to provide comprehensive backing for the high and consistent standards of waste management to be introduced under the Environmental Protection Act. Following public consultation, we have today published a new waste management paper (No.28) on the recycling of waste.
