HC Deb 01 July 1991 vol 194 c21W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the operation of his Department's Simpler Trade Procedures Board and its electronic data interchange facility since it was established.

Mr. Sainsbury

[holding answer 25 June 1991]: The Simpler Trade Procedures Board (SITPRO) is a non-departmental public body supported by my Department. SITPRO's main objectives are the elimination of unnecessary procedural barriers to international trade and the provision of impartial advice to British exporters on procedural aspects of exporting. SITPRO is a world leader in the development of international standards for electronic data interchange.
