HC Deb 01 July 1991 vol 194 c10W
15. Mr. Hind

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he plans to meet the chairman of British Rail to discuss the establishment of freight terminals for onward transport of freight to the channel tunnel; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeman

The establishment of freight terminals for channel tunnel traffic is a commercial matter for British Rail, and does not require the Government's approval. British Rail keeps the Government fully informed of progress in preparing for the commencement of channel tunnel freight services.
