§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe Secretary of State for Defence has no direct powers under the Army Act 1955 to convene any board of inquiry. If it is necessary for a particular matter to be investigated by a board of inquiry, it will be convened by the relevant military authorities under the rules laid down in section 135 of the Army Act.
