§ Mr. Peter LloydUnder the Immigration Act, there is no right of appeal to the appellate authorities against my right hon. Friend's intention to make a deportation order for reasons of national security. There is, however, a provision of the immigration rules to permit someone to appear before a panel of three independent advisers, chaired by a Lord Justice of Appeal, who will consider any representations made by the individual and, separately, the security case against the individual. All those made subject to this deportation action are advised of this right and many have chosen to exercise it.
