§ Mr. Douglas HoggOn 25 January I summoned the Yugoslav chargé d'affaires and made it clear to him that we would deplore any use or threat of force against the democratically elected governments of Slovenia and Croatia, and that any disputes should be resolved by peaceful negotiation.
