§ Mr. Nicholas BennettInformation on the communities benefiting from the reduced community charges under the transitional relief scheme and/or the community charge reduction scheme are given in the following table. Compared with 1990–91 the amount made available by the Government for reductions in community charges in Wales has been increased by £42 million to £62 million; the number of qualifying communities has increased from 323 to 612 and the number of chargepayers who are expected to benefit has increased from around 750,000 to around 1.4 million out of a total of 2.1 million.
