Mr. Wilson

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what were(a) the total numbers of recipients and ( b) the total values of the payments made in (i) cash and (ii) constant terms under the exceptionally severe weather payments under the single payments regulations in each year from 1980 to 1988 and subsequently under the social fund exceptionally cold weather payments in each subsequent year, in Scotland.

Figures for Scotland are not available for 1980–81, and in 1981–82, 1982–83, and 1983–84 no payments were made.
