§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe British embassy in Riyadh has given written advice to British nationals in the eastern and central provinces of Saudi Arabia on precautions to be taken in the event of conflict. The embassy has also issued respirators and full instructions on their use in the event of an attack by chemical weapons. The embassy maintains close and continuing contact with the British community both directly and through the wardens.
§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what consultations he has had with his opposite numbers in the United Nations coalition 287W of nations in the Gulf hostilities regarding the co-ordination of guidelines for civilian employees and employers in Saudi Arabia in responding to air raid warnings.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe have had frequent exchanges with the Governments of the coalition and other Governments about the protection of civilians in Saudi Arabia. The most important of these contacts have been with the Saudi Arabian Government, who are responsible for providing air raid shelters, instructions and air raid warnings.
