Mr. Denzil Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment (1) what percentage of employed workers were employed in the service sector in(a) 1979 and (b) 1989 in the United Kingdom, France and the Federal Republic of Germany;

(2) what percentage of employed workers are employed in manufacturing industries in (a) 1979 and (b) 1989 in the United Kingdom, France and the Federal Republic of Germany.
