§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Sheriff's determination following a fatal accident inquiry into the drowning accident involving the Destiny on 16 December 1989 was issued on 14 November 1990. A report by the Department of Transport marine accident investigation branch has also been prepared and a summary of that report will be published shortly. The recommendations contained in both reports are being carefully considered by Government Departments with an interest in these matters, including the Scottish Office, although the question of safety at sea is principally a matter for the Department of Transport.
