§ Mr. Alan HowarthAccess fund grants have been paid to more than 400 institutions in England and Wales under the regulations. I am arranging for the figures requested to be placed in the Library. In addition, access fund grants have been paid to universities, polytechnics and colleges by the Universities Funding Council and the Polytechnics and Colleges Funding Council under sections 131(4) and 132(4) of the Education Reform Act 1988.
