HC Deb 18 January 1991 vol 183 c638W
Mr. Cartwright

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will include low-energy light bulbs in his current advertising campaign aimed at promoting domestic energy efficiency.

Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

The current domestic energy efficiency advertising campaign emphasises the improvements in insulation which can be made to older existing housing and explains that such improvements can improve comfort, reduce fuel bills and help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The advertisements are designed to encourage readers to send off for the Energy Efficiency Office's new booklet pack entitled "Energy in Your Home". The first of these booklets, "The Energy Friendly Home", contains a section explaining the benefits of low-energy light bulbs.
