To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what is the total number of staff involved in servicing the review body on doctors' and dentists' remuneration and on nursing staff, midwives, health visitors and professions allied to medicine; and what is the annual cost of running these bodies.

[holding answer 14 January 1991]: A total of nine staff is involved in servicing the review body on doctors' and dentists' remuneration and the review body for nurses, midwives, health visitors and professions allied to medicine. The total annual cost of running these bodies in 1989–90, the latest figures available, was £472,623.
