To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will set out for each of the 43 police forces of England and Wales the number of scenes of crime officers employed and the percentage of crimes cleared up for the most recent 12-month period.

The information requested is set out in the table. The figures for the number of scenes of crime officers employed show the position at 31 December 1989, and the percentage of crimes cleared up refers to the whole of 1989. These are the most recent figures available.
