§ Mr. Andrew WelshTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the number and value of housing authority grants made to private landlords under sections 24 to 26 of the Local Government Act 1988 for the years 1988–89 and 1989–90; and if he will provide a breakdown of the total cost of such grants to individual local authorities in Scotland.
§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonIn 1989–90, Scottish local authorities applied for and received consent from my right hon. and learned Friend to make section 24 grants on four occasions, in each case to housing associations. The authorities concerned and the amounts were:
