HC Deb 17 January 1991 vol 183 c586W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security to what level the limit above which occupational pension is deducted from unemployment benefit would have to be raised in order to restore its April 1981 value as a proportion of average earnings; and whether he will increase it accordingly.

Mr. Jack

Against a background in which occupational pensions have been rising, we have no plans to increase the limit; but had it been raised in line with earnings increases since 1981, it would now be £76 at an annual cost of £14 million.
