To ask the Secretary of State for the Evironment when he received a copy of the report "Greening the Machinery of Government"; and whether he intends to make any response to the proposals contained in the report.

The director of Friends of the Earth wrote to my right hon. Friend on 20 December enclosing a copy of the report. He will reply to the letter shortly.
