§ Mr. Austin MitchellTo ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what information he has about the numbers of jobs shed by DAF/Leyland in(a) the United Kingdom and (b) Holland.
§ Mr. LeighLeyland DAF's total employment in the United Kingdom fell from 6,997 at the end of 1989 to 6,471 at the end of 1990. Of this 526 net reduction, 120 jobs were not lost but transferred out of Leyland DAF with the sale of part of the company's business to VDL group. I have no information on the company's employment figures in the Netherlands.
