HC Deb 16 January 1991 vol 183 c514W
Mr. Bellingham

To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether regional health authority cash limits for 1991–92 have been issued.

Mr. Waldegrave

Allocations and initial cash limits were issued just before Christmas. However, the 1990–91 baseline on which these were based had not been properly adjusted to take account of expenditure on long-stay patients, and this affected regions' positions from their weighted capitation target. The new figures for allocations, set out as follows, were notified to regions early in the new year and revised cash limits will follow. This revision does not affect the overall money available or the principle upon which it has been distributed between regions.
