To ask the Attorney-General what representations he has received calling for the establishment of a complaints procedure against private bailiffs.

The Attorney-General

The National Consumer Council has recently published a report which recommends that the Lord Chancellor's Department should advertise a central address and telephone number to receive complaints against private bailiffs. The Government are considering the recommendations of this report.
