HC Deb 28 February 1991 vol 186 c572W
Ms. Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how much of the £4 million Avon area training budget for the year 1990–91 has still to be allocated; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Jackson

This information is an internal management matter for the TEC.

Ms. Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment, further to his answer of 20 February 1991,Official Report, column 190, whether trainees affected by the sudden closure of any of the providers of employment training in Avon will be able to make alternative arrangements of their choice; how many training places will be specifically allocated to accommodate the numbers of trainees displaced; and if he will make available extra resources to keep open those schemes where trainees choose to finish their training.

Mr. Jackson

Every effort is being made to ensure that suitable alternative arrangements are available for trainees affected by the closure of any ET schemes in Avon. How much alternative provision is needed and the nature and location of that provision will depend upon choices made by trainees as the circumstances of each individual trainee are reviewed.
