§ Mr. Alfred MorrisTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if, pursuant to the answer to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe on 21 January 1991,Official Report, column 613, he will clarify (a) the total number expected to qualify for the new lower rate of care component of disability living allowance and (b) the number and proportion of these who will need a special diet; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ScottWe anticipate that around 240,000 people will be eligible for the new lower rate of the care component of the disability living allowance and that around 60,00 of these will be people who need a special diet.
