To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) if he will list the total number of consultants to medical appeal tribunals who are aged(a) under 35 years, (b) 35 to 50 years, (c) 50 to 65 years and (d) over 65 years;

(2) if he will list the criteria used when appointing consultants to medical appeal tribunals; and what is (i) the minimum and (ii) the maximum period for appointees to medical appeal tribunals;

(3) if he will list the total number of women consultants who have been appointed to medical appeal tribunals in the Northern region in each year since 1979.
