To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many, and which, local authorities submitted crime prevention strategies to his Department in response to circular 44/90, by the 31 October 1990 deadline.

Responses to circular 44/90 were received from 52 local authorities by 31 October 1990. An additional 32 local authority responses were received after the deadline. All are being considered by an independent working group, which will report in the early summer. Those local authorities which replied in time were:
