To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make it his policy to ensure that the results of monitoring and instances of breaches of licences by companies or individuals dumping(a) chemicals and (b) sewage sludge at sea are made available for the general public.

Publication of this information is already our policy. The results of monitoring work carried out by scientists in this Department are published in the aquatic environment monitoring report series.

I intend that information on revocation of licences and convictions for breach of licence conditions will be added to the public register of licences maintained by this Department. The appropriate powers for this were obtained in the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
