HC Deb 26 February 1991 vol 186 c431W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much butter from(a) the United Kingdom and (b) each other European Community country has been sold to the Soviet Union this year and at what price per tonne in £ sterling; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Curry

No data are yet available on exports this year of butter from the European Community to the Soviet Union. A contract has been signed for the export of 200,000 tonnes of butter at reduced price under a derogation from minimum prices agreed by the GATT international dairy arrangement. No deliveries are known to have occurred under this contract to date.
