§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Government's intention to establish a new national service for the rehabilitation of brain-injured patients in Scotland was announced on 11 May last year. Consideration of bids to host the service is well advanced and an announcement may be expected in the near future.
§ Mr. GalbraithTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he has any plans to increase the amount of moneys available in project grants to health boards for the rehabilitation of severely brain-injured patients;
(2) when he expects to announce the amount of project grants to health boards for the rehabilitation of the severely brain-injured patient;
(3) if he will give those health boards and other organisations which have submitted to his Department applications for project grants for the rehabilitation of the severely brain-injured patient, the number for each health board, the amount applied for and the date of the application.
§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Government's intention to establish a new national service for the rehabilitation of brain-injured patients was announced on 11 May last year. Proposals to host all or part of this service were submitted by Dumfries and Galloway, Grampian, Greater Glasgow, Lothian and Tayside health boards and Scotcare Ltd. As these proposals are still under consideration, it would riot be appropriate to publish details of individual bids. An announcement of the location of the service and its funding may be expected in the near future.
