§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeAuditing of grant-maintained schools and city technology colleges is the function of external auditors appointed by each school and college. The Audit Commission has successfully tendered to become the external auditors of several grant-maintained schools under the provisions of section 220 of the Education Reform Act 1988.
