§ Mr. Menzies Campbell
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) when he expects to announce his decision on a stand-off nuclear missile for the Royal Air Force;
(2) what factors will influence his decision on a stand-off nuclear missile for the Royal Air Force.

§ Mr. Archie Hamilton
As with all equipment procurement decisions, a variety of factors will be taken into account, including cost, performance, time scale and technical risk. Our consideration of the various options is continuing. The House will be informed as soon as a decision is taken.
