§ Ms. PrimaroloTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give for unemployed people in Avon undergoing employment training on the schemes which have been unsuccessful in their tender for contracts for the year commencing 1 April 1991, the numbers and proportion of those on ET(a) who will be able to continue the same or similar course at another site from April 1991 and (b) of those who will not be able to continue on ET, the numbers and proportion who will instead (i) be referred to a job club, (ii) be referred to a Restart counsellor, (iii) be referred to job interview guarantee, or (iv) receive a training credit.
Mr. JacksonEvery effort will be made to ensure that those currently on ET who want to continue their training do so. All trainees affected will be reviewed individually so that alternative arrangements of their choice can be identified. Where a person expresses a wish not to continue training they will receive other appropriate help, for example to enhance their job prospects.
