§ Mr. AtkinsWith effect from 3 December 1990, responsibility for sport and recreation transferred from the Department of the Environment to the Department of Education and Science. I am responsible for sports matters generally and for sport and PE in schools. In addition, I am responsible for children's play; personal and social education, including health, AIDS, drugs and sex education; the youth service; energy conservation; and departmental purchasing. I also provide support on section 12 to 16 cases.
