§ Mr. NellistTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what information he has on a comparative basis of the average earnings of skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled men, and women, in manufacturing industry in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries, at the latest convenient dates and five years ago in £ sterling equivalents and purchasing power equivalents.
§ Mr. ForthThe only information available is published by(a) the Statistical Office of the European Communities on the average gross hourly earnings of manual workers by industrial groups, in "Earnings: Industry and Services, No. 1 1990", a copy of which will be available shortly in the Library of the House; and (b) the International Labour Office on average wages by industry for OECD and other countries in "Yearbook of Labour Statistics 1989–90", a copy of which is available in the Library.
