HC Deb 18 February 1991 vol 186 c48W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what assessment he has made of the impact of free sale arrangements offered by Cyprus Airways, as a result of subsidies by the Cyprus Government, on British operators;

(2) what discussions have been held with the Government of Cyprus on the implications for fair competition of the subsidy given by that Government to Cyprus Airways.

Mr. McLoughlin

My Department holds regular talks with representatives of the Government of Cyprus on all aspects of our bilateral aviation relationship. We are always prepared to consider any complaint from British airlines who believe they may be facing unfair competition.
