HC Deb 18 February 1991 vol 186 c13W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the general Government expenditure and gross domestic product being spent on and arising from(a) agriculture and (b) manufacturing in both cash and real terms since 1979; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mellor

The 1990 edition of the "United Kingdom National Accounts"—otherwise known as the CSO Blue Book—gives the following information:

  1. (a) Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current factor cost for the agriculture, forestry and fishing industry and for manufacturing industries in Table 2.1;
  2. (b) GDP at constant factor cost by industry expressed in index form in Table 2.4;
  3. (c) General government expenditure at current market prices analysed by industry in Table 9.4.

Industrial analyses of general Government expenditure in real terms are not available.
