HC Deb 14 February 1991 vol 185 c586W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when he expects to formulate and announce plans to alter the provision and location of offices and counter services for social security in the Cardiff area.

Miss Widdecombe

In April 1991 the Barry, Cardiff West, Cardiff East and Cardiff Central offices will combine to form the South Glamorgan district and will be managed as a single unit. The senior management team for this project has recently been appointed, and one of their priorities will be to draw up detailed plans to provide the best possible service to local customers. There will be the widest possible consultation with Members of Parliament, and with local statutory and voluntary organisations. There are no plans to close offices in the Cardiff area.
