§ Mr. WakehamSection 3 of the Electricity Act 1989 sets out various duties 1 have to take into account when566W exercising my functions under the Act. In granting the initial licences to the regional electricity companies, included conditions in their public supply licences requiring them to produce a code of practice for the provision of information on the efficient use of electricity and to comply with a standard set for this activity. It falls to the Director General of Electricity Supply to approve and monitor those codes and to determine the actual standard of performance.
