§ Dr. MawhinneyUptake under the cross-community contact scheme has grown progressively since its570W introduction in 1987 and today over one-third of all Northern Ireland schools—about 450 schools—and 300 youth or community groups are participating in joint programmes. The budget for the present financial year is £500,000.
