§ Mr. Nicholas BennettMy right hon. Friend's proposals for the further improvement of all forms of social care are set out in chapter 11 of the White Paper "Caring for People—Community Care in the Next Decade and Beyond.' (Cm 849). The Government believe that people should enter residential and nursing home care as a positive choice. Social services authorities, working closely with health authorities and other interests, should ensure the development of adequate networks of domiciliary, day and residential care in the private, voluntary and public sectors which maximise choice and ensure high quality in all aspects of provision.
