§ Mr. Alan HowarthThe numbers of postgraduate students at Scottish universities in physics, chemistry and mathematics were 317, 422 and 135 respectively in the academic year 1989–90. The comparable figures for 1988–89 were 350, 431 and 103. Figures are not yet available for the current academic year.
