To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will publish in theOfficial Report the number of general practitioners who have opted to become budget holders in each district health authority area under the South East Thames regional health authority area, and the number of budget holders as a percentage proportion of the total number of general practitioners in each district; and if he will make a statement.

I intend to make a statement to the House on the recognition of general practitioner fundholders throughout the country in the next few weeks. I will then write to my hon. Friend with the detailed information he seeks.
