HC Deb 11 February 1991 vol 185 c336W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will give a breakdown of the manner in which the 1989–90 surplus of the Companies House executive agency has been disbursed.

Mr. Redwood

Companies House's operating surplus funds the wider costs of running the system of regulating companies and developing company law. In 1989–90 the relevant costs were investigations division (including external inspections) £10.5 million, companies division £1.6 million and the solicitors' office £0.5 million.
