HC Deb 08 February 1991 vol 185 c271W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the full extent of all discussions conducted by the then Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster during his visit to Iraq in 1988.

Mr. Lilley

My right hon. Friend's discussions were concerned essentially with commercial and economic relations and a new medium-term credit line, details of which have already been made public. In addition to the discussions on matters of commercial interest my right hon. Friend also spoke of the strong feelings in Britain about the use of chemical weapons against Kurdish Iraqi nationals.
