§ Mr. Alan Howarth"Loans for Students" is a 15-page booklet produced by the Department of Education and Science and the Scottish Office Education Department. A total of 650,000 copies were printed for England and Wales at a cost of £47,821. The initial distribution of214W 200,000 copies to higher and further education institutions, to LEAs and, through them, to schools and colleges, cost £7,557.
§ Mr. Andrew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many of the loan applications reported by the Student Loans Company are repeat applications arising from errors in the submission of applications.
§ Mr. Alan HowarthThe Student Loans Company is responsible for the administration of the scheme. I am therefore asking the managing director of the company to write direct to the hon. Member with the information requested.
