HC Deb 07 February 1991 vol 185 c225W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what assessment he has made of the recent OECD report on the state of the environment.

Mr. Heseltine

I warmly welcome the publication by the OECD of this its third report on the state of the environment. It is a major report, assessing the progress of environmental policies in OECD countries over the last two decades and the problems to be addressed in the 1990s. The Government fully endorse the conclusions of the report notably that the pace of progress to improve the environment needs to be speeded up, better integration between economic and environmental policies is required, and that work on improving environmental information needs to be accelerated.
