Approximately 7,000 Orders in Council have been made in the last 10 years of which, it is estimated, some 20 per cent. have been prerogative orders, dealing with such matters as the prorogation and dissolution of Parliament, the grant and amendment of royal charters, the government of dependent territories and the approval of reports of the judicial committee of the Privy Council.
